When organizing corporate sailing event, you need to take care about numerous little details, which will eventually make your sailing event memorable and your guest and clients satisfied. Here’s a short list of “good to know” tips:
- Make sure that all skippers have valid sailing and VHF licences (boat leaders license of competency and radio-telephone license of competency). They are obligatory to present at charter office during the check in. If you don’t own a valid license, or you don’t feel comfortable enough to maneuver the yacht, Waypoint Yacht Charter can find and book a skipper for you.
- Standard yacht equipment includes all necessary navigational equipment, dinghy, fully equipped galley, life jackets, harnesses, first aid kit, blankets, pillows etc. On your demand (during booking procedure) any additional equipment can be added on boat, such as outboard engine, spinnaker, gennaker, safety net.. Some yachts posses extra equipment (microwave, TV/DVD player, grill), so it’s important to read offer and equipment list very carefully, to avoid possible misunderstandings.
- Don’t forget that chartering a yacht brings some additional cost: tourist tax, final cleaning, fuel charges, marina fees, skipper fee, transfers and sometimes outboard/spinnaker/gennaker charge.
- Most important thing you should know – yacht and crew are fully insured against all accidents. On check in at charter office you will have to leave security deposit - this amount is different in various charter companies, and can be left in cash or on credit card.
What to bring on a sailing yacht? Your own clothing (it’s good to have proper clothing for sun/wind/sea protection) as well as some proper boat shoes (non slipping if possible).
